Hello everyone,

I'm conducting a short survey on focus and mental stability during poker sessions.

The goal is to better understand:

• How players maintain concentration during long gaming sessions
• What affects mental performance and tilt control
• Whether external factors (such as environment, routines, or background audio) influence decision-making

The survey takes less than 3 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.

If you can contribute, here's the link:

If you can comment here on what strategies you use to maintain focus, we can exchange ideas on the subject.

Thank you in advance and good luck at the tables 1771615275588.png

I smoke, a lot. Usually after every big hand I'll take a bong rip. I also like to listen to music during long sessions. It helps keep me level headed, and my frustrations to a minimum.

I would have to adapt if I played live, because I wouldn't be able to smoke at the tables.

I confess I wasn't expecting that answer, hahaha. I've been listening to a lot of instrumental music, LoFi hip hop, and it helps me stay focused for hours. I also stretch the body during breaks. Sometimes when a session is going really badly, I put on some more upbeat music and then go back to LoFi, especially if I'm in the final stages.

I don’t play for too long. Max I have played is 2 hours. Usually, I play for an hour. Anything more than 2 hours is a frustration for me, I stop even when I am winning

Maintaining focus in long poker sessions is mostly about managing energy, not just concentration. When I am playing long sessions, I try to avoid being emotional, and protect my bankroll

My brother, long poker sessions can be very demanding mentally. People think you just sit down and click cards, but after some hours your brain starts working sluggishly. One thing that helps me is reducing distractions completely. No arguing in group chats, no loud music, nothing. Once I notice I’m making rushed decisions, I just pause.

Generally speaking, I do not spend hours playing poker, however, I have also spent a few hours playing a couple of times. When I was playing long session, I usually try to communicate with other people, especially non poker related topics to keep myself engaged.
