I personally like to balance both. Sometimes I play slow to last longer and sometimes I push hard for big wins. Depends on the situation and opponents. You can not always go all in because patience and timing matter a lot too.
To be honest, these two strategies are quite important in poker. Pot odds help you decide if to call or fold based on risk and reward. Expected value show how much you can win or lose on average. If you understand these well, it's a big advantage. That will make you improve your game.
Patience is key for me. You don't have to fold all the time, but sometimes you need to wait for a better hand. I try as much as possible to observe my opponents well and I'm not always in a rush. Also, a little bluffing here and there can help but it shouldn't be too much.
I won't lie, sometimes it feel very risky. But if you are so careful with your details and you don't use the public WiFi, it's okay. I try use card mainly for trusted sites. But, I still prefer mobile money or bank transfer morel just to be safe.
It is not easy to make such prediction. But countries like Brazil and Germany are always strong. But to be honest, I'm actually hoping that the African team will surprise everybody in this coming World Cup. They have the talent but sometimes luck is against them.
Both are very competitive but with different style. UEFA has more money, so they actually have those top level players. But CAF has that passion that money can't buy. I've watched some CAF matches and the energy is so intense. In African football, it is not all about the skill, but the heart...
Sports is a universal language. Like, even if we are from different tribe or country, when the match start, everybody will be cheering their club together. I remember football tournaments where fans from different backgrounds are actually bonding over the game.
The truth be told, sports tech is changing the game a lot. Like with apps and VR, it makes the fans more involved in the game and they trust it more. I remember when we started using smartphones for live updates, it really changed how people follow their matches.
I always load my playlist before I travel. Music is one of the things that keep me alive during those endless trips. I also like cracking jokes with fellow passengers if the atmosphere is right. Sometimes I download one or two Netflix shows too, but once the bus start to vibrate too much, due to...
There was a time I tried snail pepper soup at an event in Benue. When I saw it, I was shocked at first, but after tasting it? It was so so delicious 😂. I also remembered when someone gave me a roasted grasscutter, I didn’t even know what it was until later. It actually tasted good, I won't lie.
I like editing short videos or scrolling through TikTok for inspiration. Sometimes I play games like FIFA or just hang out with friends at a joint spot. Honestly, I do anything that lets me switch off my brain from work stress. I also like taking a walk.
For me, once I feel that stress is building up, I just blast music or go for a walk. Sometimes I even gist with my one of my friends about random things, and the pressure will keep down gradually. I don’t like overthinking what I know that I can’t fix immediately, so I just look for an escape route.
Reading your opponents is not an easy thing, but is the real source of poker games. I watch people’s patterns, how fast they bet and how they act after a flop. I like that challenge though as it keeps the game deep. Poker is psychology mixed with patience.
I still haven't created enough time to study poker but I intend to make it at least twice a week. Sometimes I watch hand reviews, sometimes I just replay my old games and I even write down my blunders.
Honestly, I share some but in poker this time. I don't share everything 😂. I’ve spent years studying and losing money to learn certain lessons. I once taught a friend one trick, and next week he used it against me. Since then I just shared general tips, not my full playbook.
Being a nit has some advantage, but as good as it sounds, it can also limit your winnings too. It worked for small stakes, but later I realized you can’t win big if you’re too scared.
To face reality, Daniel Negreanu is a real beast. The way he read people, it's like he has some kind of spiritual power 😅. Jokes apart, I think the guy is a master in observing other people. He studies every small move like the body movement, voice tone, timing and other things.
I can say that the journalist that hacked the card shuffler is a genius. But let's say the truth, using tech to cheat does not make sense. I remember one home game when one guy try something funny with his phone, it got everybody angry instantly. That kind of thing will actually spoil the fun...
Taking mental breaks is part of survival, it shouldn't be luxury. I remember one week I played almost every night, and by Thursday my brain was just off, I couldn't do anything further. I was just making dumb calls 😂. Since then, I’ve learnt to pause when my head feels heavy.
These days I’m more into small hobbies like cycling, cooking, even sketching. It fills that restless energy that gambling used to eat up.🤣 Funny enough, I’m saving more money now and feeling better mentally too.
