    Can you turn professional poker player through playing home games?

    Grinding online, it’s definitely possible, but becoming a poker pro by only playing home games is impossible. That said, home games can still be great experience, especially if you’re playing with a solid group of players, and you can carry those skills into other games.

    I believe poker teaches more than just money management, you also develop discipline and learn valuable lessons that can be applied in real life.

    Cash, MTTs, Sit & Gos, Spin & Gos… I keep going back to MTTs for the big score potential. What format keeps you coming back? For me, it’s tournaments. I’d much rather play MTTs than any other format.

    Do you still get the urge to chase losses during a downswing? Ultimately, consistency is key, along with discipline.

    A lot of my family plays poker. My parents used to host a home game, and that’s how I was introduced to poker. What about you?

    How do you stay emotionally neutral after a brutal bad beat?

    It’s part of poker, you can’t control the outcome, so you have to battle through variance. I believe players who can manage their emotions really separate themselves, especially at lower stakes where the field is usually weaker.

    If I were playing live poker, I probably wouldn’t listen to music. I might miss my turn because I couldn’t hear properly. Online, though, I love listening to music while I play since that’s not an issue.

    What did you want to be....?

    I was interested in game design as well. I used to mess around with UDK and CryEngine for a while, following some tutorials, but eventually I gave it up to pursue other ventures. Have you seen the movie Grandmas Boy?
