Just not taking it all that seriously. Life is ups and downs, wins and losses. Same at poker. P.S. I noticed this section is labeled "Phycology", which is the study of algae. I suspect "Psychology" was meant. (Don't mind me; just did a lot of copy editing over the years.)- Pally

Here in the States it varies between 18 or 21, depends on the type venue, and if it is on tribal lands or not. The majority are the latter, however. As liquor is often available at such establishments, that is also a factor that often results in it being the older age. For our younger...- Pally

Neato thread. Haven't seen many of these. It is an old picture, but Val Kilmer stole the show as the hard drinking, poker playing, gunslinger Doc Holliday in Tombstone (1993). Can't recommend enough for those who haven't seen it. After all, Doc said "... poker's an honest trade." :love:- Pally

Honestly, both. Different venues, different vibe, different focus — naturally. But I love the game. Well, that and other gaming (e.g., blackjack, roulette, et al.). But there ain't nothing like poker, just for fun or for the greenbacks.- Pally

No, not really. I know my father did some back in the day, but his game was baccarat. I don't remember my mother playing anything. My paternal grandmother used to hit the casinos a bit. This was a long time ago, so I don't remember is poker was one of her games.- Pally
