    Dealing With Poker Burnout

I used to be able to grind much longer sessions, but I don't have the same motivation I had in my early years of playing online poker. These days, I tend to burn out much more quickly. That said, when I'm making a deep run in an MTT, I can usually push through the fatigue and stay focused. The...

When Should You Quit a Session?

When I used to play cash games, I'd sit down and play until I either reached my goal or went bust. With tournaments, I take a different approach. I give myself a set number of bullets and limit how much I play each day. Tournaments can be mentally exhausting, especially when you're running...

How Do You Handle Bad Beats?

The tables and poker sites will still be there tomorrow. Taking breaks is important, especially when you're tired, frustrated, or not playing your best. One of the biggest mistakes players make is feeling like they have to keep playing to win back losses or take advantage of every game...

How Much Does Mindset Affect Win Rate?

I think it's much higher than that, maybe closer to 80%. When a player is on tilt and not in the right state of mind, they're far more likely to spew chips and money by overplaying hands, forcing action, and making emotional decisions instead of logical ones. Poker is as much a mental game as...

Smaller Fields or Bigger Fields in Poker Tournaments?

I have a high win rate in smaller-field tournaments, but the opportunity to win a large prize for only a small portion of my bankroll is what attracts me to big-field tournaments. The larger prize pools are exciting, but they also come with much higher variance. In smaller fields, my edge tends...

    100 Spin & Go Challenge - $1 Spins

I’ve been thinking about a challenge that would motivate me to play more poker outside of our home games on StockPoker. I’ll keep track of all the Spin & Gos I play and post my progress as I complete the challenge. My goal is to win 60–70% of the games, regardless of the prize value.

Which Poker Site Has the Best Tournament Schedule?

Not enough sites cater to players of all skill levels, but it’s understandable that smaller poker sites may not be able to consistently run large regular games.
