Cash games are generally easier to maintain a consistent win rate compared to tournaments.

Cash games have lower variance because stacks are deep and blinds don’t increase. You’re not forced into marginal spots the way you are in tournaments, so skill shows through more consistently over time. If you’re better than your opponents, you can steadily grind profit.

Tournaments, on the other hand, are extremely variance-heavy. Even very strong players can go long stretches without a big score because so much depends on runs, all-ins, and field size. You might be playing well but not seeing results for a while.

That said, “easier” doesn’t mean “easy.” Cash games are often tougher player pools (especially online), and edges can be smaller. You also need strong discipline, tilt or poor bankroll management will punish you quickly.

A more accurate takeaway:
Cash games = more consistent, lower variance, easier to measure your edge
Tournaments = higher variance, bigger upside, harder to sustain steady results

Hey all. I've been playing mobile poker apps (PPPoker, X-Poker,PokerBros, ClubGG) for a couple of years, mostly in Asian clubs.Built a comparison directory at poker-catalog where I track rakebackrates, club traffic, and agent reliability. Happy to answerquestions about the mobile poker world — it's a niche mosttraditional poker players don't know much about.
