If you were starting a poker site from scratch today, would you still go with Node.js + WebSockets, or are there better options like Go, Rust, or even Elixir for handling real-time game states?
 
Everybody like mentioning the latest language like it was a trophy. 🤣. The basic truth is that the stable system was way more than any kind of shiny technology. If your server starts to freeze once the tournament reach its peak traffic, users will leave immediately.
