Can you explain Bitcoin to me like I’m five years old?

I was just checking online and i saw "Bitcoin" trending again. Can somebody explain it like I am five? All these blockchain talk can be very overwhelming. There are lots of complex terms to deal with in Bitcoin. Is this thing even standard for beginners or is it just a hype? I just want to understand so I don't embarrass myself.
