Do casinos have prop players to fill seats in cash tables?

I seen a discussion about this on Reddit. Do you think casinos add players/staff at tables in order to maximize rake?
 
Pretty sure I've seen it, they use friends/family to keep the tables looking busy and sign others up to lose their money easier.

I can see that happening more at home games where cash games are being played. I'm pretty sure some casinos do have prop players though. The thread on Reddit got a ton of comments.
