Bad beats seem to happen more often online, because more hands are played hourly. I usually don't get mad or rage after bad beats. I do have hiccups from time to time if I'm going through a downswing, and it seems impossible to get a win. I try to control my emotions when I play, and if I start getting frustrated, I'll recognize it, and take a break.

Have you ever raged after a bad beat or suckout?

Bad beats could be very irritating but one should acknowledge and step back. On the other hand, taking breaks and reassessing helps you have a level head and avoid mistakes that cost you money.

I don't rage after a bad beat, they happen to everyone. I have been on bith sides many times so that may be a part of my non reactions to them. Sometimes I get in a rut where it "feels" like I can't win a hand and I will step away for a little while to clear my head. Having a solid mental game is a big part of poker for sure.

have i ever raged....before i studied poker a little bit i didnt understand the game properly and thought the best hand pre should always win. i had 7+ laptops with shattered screens and would buy them on special ready for the next bad beat smh. i dont rage anymore and havent for the last 9 years or so, giving up alcohol having kids and a limited roll forced me to lock in or give up so i chose the latter and have been winning ever since LFG

It’s hard to fathom yelling at a computer—it’s just a machine and shouldn’t hold sway over anyone’s happiness. Play the game, win or lose, and move on. Plus, it’s wise to maintain composure around others—especially women. Losing control in front of them can lead to frustration or disinterest. Instead, focus on showing positive outcomes—it makes for a smoother, less stressful journey in this wild ride we call life.

Yelling at a machine doesn’t do anything but escalate frustration. Staying calm, no matter what happens, not only keeps the game enjoyable but also helps maintain a better atmosphere around others.

Staying positive and composed, whether you’re winning or losing will definitely make the whole experience more rewarding. It’s all about focusing on the bigger picture and handling the ups and downs with grace.

I totally agree with you, especially after bad luck, keeping a cool head is essential. Sitting in front of a computer and cursing or doing so in front of people is embarrassing and does not solve a thing. Keeping your cool enables you to review the situation, learn from your mistakes, and move on.

I’m one of the lucky people that does not rage, or steam after a bad beat or suck out, or even just being card dead. Patience is really valuable in this game.

I do bang the desk when it happens but then it's forgotten it's part of poker one thing I had noticed with Internet random card generators is how many times aces and kings are in the flop As compared to live games at the casinos

That's a good way to do things. Not getting mad at certain things and stepping back, then trying in the next rounds is key. Sometimes anger gets the best out of us and we lose that focus & it messes us up in future games.

I think I'm like you as I try to keep my emotions in check when I'm playing. I also try to educate myself that bad beats is part of the game and even if I get frustrated, it won't change the outcome.

Who doesn't? It is very frustrating and depressing! When you keep losing to players who you know you are better off. It is humiliating and embarrassing!
