PokerStars Shuffles the Deck with Launch of the 2025 PokerStars Open
PokerStars has made bold moves in the live poker scene following the cancellation of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris and uncertainty surrounding EPT Prague. This week, they turned the spotlight to positive developments by unveiling the PokerStars Open, set to debut in 2025 with six European stops.
The PokerStars Open will replace several well-loved regional tours, including the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), Eureka Poker Tour, Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT), and France Poker Series (FPS). This new series promises a fresh experience for players while maintaining the spirit of these iconic events.
The 2025 schedule features six stops, including three new destinations, and incorporates the legendary 45th-annual Irish Open. The series also includes main events at EPT Monte Carlo and EPT Barcelona, the only EPT stops confirmed so far for 2025.
Each PokerStars Open stop will headline with a €1,100/£1,100 Main Event, boasting a guaranteed €1M/£1M prize pool. Additionally, each location will feature an extensive tournament schedule designed to draw players from across the globe.
Cédric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, expressed his excitement about the new series:
“The PokerStars Open is designed to deliver unique experiences at every stop, offering players the chance to enjoy tournaments in diverse locations across Europe. By moving to this new format, we have greater flexibility to bring million-guaranteed events to a variety of exciting destinations—not just the traditional ones.”

• PokerStars Open Malaga: Gran Madrid Casino Torrequebrada, Malaga, Spain (June 16-22)
• PokerStars Open Manchester: Casino Manchester235, Manchester, UK (October 20-26)
• PokerStars Open Cannes: Casino Barrière Le Croisette, Cannes, France (December 8-14)
