I am usually very strict on bankroll management, but I been thinking of getting back into playing cash games to pay for some of my tournaments.

What stakes/levels would you start at with a $100 bankroll? When should you move up/down to different stakes if building a bankroll through cash games?

At a $100 bankroll and generally speaking, the safe play is to play the lower stakes but a few alternatives could be micro-stakes poker. The focus should majorly be on bankroll management.

There's always risk no matter what stakes/level you play. I'm more looking for how many buy-ins I need before to move up/down to the next level specifically for cash games, because normally my bankroll management strategy/plan is geared towards tournaments.

I doubt I'll need 25+ buy-ins for the lowest level at cash tables, right?

As an amateur player that I am, with a $100 bankroll, I would go down to the lowest stakes. I would probably go 2NL (blinds of $0.01/$0.02), that has a buy-in of $2. That gives me a solid 50 buy-ins that is less averse to risks. I won't ever think of going higher.

On multiple occasions. I have played a parlay bet with just $8 and cashed out $142. There was a time I won $123 with a stake that's not up to $10. It happens occasionally as it's very difficult to win huge amounts with small money..

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
