For me, winning a large tournament definitely makes it more memorable.

I still remember winning a $1 buy-in on Pokerstars 6-7 years go. I took 1st out 4000 players for $750. I even remember folding QQ preflop to a re-raise all in, then going on to win the whole tournament. Cash games its the complete opposite I remember my losses, more than I do my wins.

When I was 14. I was playing on Full Tilt Poker under my moms name. Grinding freerolls, and while she was gone on vacation for a week. I ended up winning some freeroll dollars, and built it up to $2000. I lost it all in one hand. JJ Vs AA all in preflop.

How about you? What makes a tournament or cash game more memorable for you?

I would say going against one person that is really road blocking your way to getting all the money but making it fun along the way.

Winning! Not really, how fun was the overall experience? I've had some great times while losing.

The winnings of course. But that aside, I guess the type of people I played with on the table can also leave a lasting impression on me.

I don't play lots of poker tournaments but there is this particular tournament that I entered. I was so low on chips and I had to fight back from that position. I was technically out and somehow, I made it deep. I just doubled up and didn't get eliminated even when it was more likely that I should and I would. I didn't win the tournament but that intensity to fight back from a losing position is what always sticks in my head.

The most memorable games for me are when there's great table talk and everyone's having fun, not just grinding silently. Big bluffs that work, crazy bad beats, or when I finally catch someone who's been bullying the table.
