If you have been playing Poker for a while you might have noticed that many players lock up after winning a few buy-ins. Why do you think they do this? Does fear of giving it back change bet sizing, bluff frequency, or table selection more than we actually admit?

Greed and excitement, it's that simple. A small win comes and the brain starts pushing for more. I’ve seen it happen with betting, games, even business. Instead of appreciating the progress, people rush to do more.

I think small wins get mismanaged because sometimes people feel overconfident after winning a few pots and start taking unnecessary risks. It’s easy to lose discipline, chase bigger gains, and forget consistent strategy matters more than short-term success.
