A lot of controversy has trailed the winner of Balon D'or this season in the person of Rodri of Manchester City. Will you say that he is the one that is supposed to have won or another person?

I don't know why many people question the authenticity of the award. But I think that Rodri deserves to become the winner of the Ballon d’Or. He's been a fantastic player and that's why he truly deserved it. Also, Manchester City was satisfied with Rodri’s performance this season, just like Real Madrid was happy with Vinicius Junior.

Honestly, Rodric did not deserve the award because the obvious winner is Vinicius jnr. The Brazilian have amazing quality and outperformed Rodric and host of all other contestants. It is a shame that the Brazilian was deprived of the award.

You are right to an extent. I mean when Rodri got injured at Manchester City, the team couldn't pick one player who was able to replicate what he was doing for the team. That was how important he was to how the team plays.

The challenge is that many people in football don't see the work of the defensive midfielder in football because it is a dirty work. But they can make a team very good. That's how people never saw the value of Busquets to Barcelona and Spain. Rodri scored in both champions league and Euros final that year while still providing the midfield solidity for those teams to win trophies. Even Vinicius knows that Rodri deserved it.

Vinicius jnr was denied the award because of he is young and still have brighter prospects of getting the award while Rodri was almost at the end of his career .The award is consolidation award in respect of Rodri. I will continue to maintain that whosoever the gave him deserved some butt kicking.
