I rely mostly on experience for my mental approach to poker. That said, I’ve also picked up a lot from studying and watching players I believe can help me improve.

How about you?

I learn from experience, my own experience as well as someone else's experience. I like to listen to good players and try to implement their winning strategies in my next game.

Relying only on experience can slow the growth seriously. I used to play blindly like that, no deep reflection. So, I decided to review my hands, I noticed I kept repeating same mistakes. That moment changed my approach. Having a small study can help sharpen your decisions more than some kind of endless grinding.

I disagree, I think it’s underestimated how much players can improve through experience, especially when they reevaluate hands after making poor decisions.

You can also improve significantly by playing against stronger opponents, and I believe the experience from our home games provides exactly that.

We are still saying the same thing. Experience can help greatly. But we can't learn blindly and expect miracles to happen. I tried that path before, I was just placing bets based on what I know hoping to breakthrough one day but it never happened. When I finally sat down to check my patterns, that was when I saw that I was repeating the same nonsense.
