How do you manage your finance for playing poker? It doesn't matter if you're playing online or offline, funds are needed to play.

Do you set aside a different slush funds for your gambling or do you dip hands into your regular funds to play with it?

I keep my poker, and finances separate but I don't play poker for a living. If I added the pressure to my game, it'd likely force me to play higher buy-ins to try and make rent.
Managing my bankroll with good bankroll management is top priority.

I don't play for money, mostly because I don't gamble. I live on a fixed income and there really isn't any budget for gambling. But I do think that's a great idea, keeping a poker fund and your regular bills in another set of funds

Most of us start out using funds from our day jobs. I can't remember the last time i did that. If i'm running low on a site i usually wothdraw from a site where I'm strong to fund lower bankrolls.

Nope just try to do proper bankroll management at the site level.

Yes. I've always been good at accounting and I keep the two separate. Now, granted, I don't play for a living, nor plan to any time soon. Maybe that answer would be different for someone who does. But it is where I am right now and I'm fine with that.

No.

All of my cash is intermingled.

I would have to setup personal accounting in order to separate what I will play with versus what I will shop with. And because I'm fortunate enough to not have to budget that way, there is no need for me to separate funds; I'll just play with the cash I have and have whatever I have leftover at the end of the month.

Yeah most times I do keep some funds aside in case I want to dabble into poker. And I tap into it. On no account do I touch my regular finances.

This is the best way to go. We don't want to be using our life money to finance games.

I have a special account for poker’s money where I keep my bankroll. It’s a purely poker account which I fund from time to time. This way, I can play without having to use my working money or have it come from my operating expenditure.

I have separate account for gambling which include poker games. I only gamble with one-tenth of the money. When the game goes against me, i stopped for the game. If the game goes to my favour, i will play one-tenth with the profit of the previous game. That's how i manage my bankroll.

Having an exclusive gambling or poker fund helps to manage bankrolls. This fund allows one to earmark a certain amount for poker, and not touching the money one needs for daily living expenses.
