I remember when 888poker used to have webcam tables for cash games. It actually made me want to play cash games, even though I strongly prefer tournaments. A lot of players ended up blocking their cameras, though, which is probably why the feature was eventually removed.

Do you think webcam tables could work on an online poker site?

When you think about it, it would seem logical to be able to pick up tells that you wouldn’t see normally unfortunately it’s disgusting. Got someone shaving or stuffing their face or some unremarkable things that they do on camera picking their teeth for one was totally appalling.
The only advantage I can reason out is that it a distraction pure and simple.

You might see me doing this if we played poker with webcams :p:ROFLMAO:

Webcam poker sounds fun until you remember the kind of internet problem that we are facing here. 😂 Imagine you trying to bluff and suddenly the camera freeze all of a sudden. I actually like the live poker because online poker can feel cold and robotic sometimes. And the fact that people are too paranoid now. Privacy issues is everywhere.

I think webcam poker tables could work for some players, especially people who miss the social side of live poker. Seeing reactions and expressions might make games feel more authentic. The downside is privacy and comfort though, because a lot of online players prefer staying anonymous while playing.

I wouldn't want someone to watch me as I play online. I have a lot of privacy concern, especially with using webcam. I don't think it is good.

On the positive side, they’d make games feel more social and closer to live poker.
But the big downside is privacy. A lot of players simply don’t want to be on camera, and it could scare away recreational players who just want casual, anonymous games.
