Join PCF! LoginBeing too math-oriented can actually affect you a little. Poker is not only about calculating, sometimes reading the players can save you. If you don't balance logic with instinct, you might lose. Poker are numbers, yes, but you are actually playing against humans. It would for me, as I'm not good with numbers and I would easily and quickly become confused.
It also depends on the skill level of the field or table. Playing poker from a mathematical perspective can provide a solid edge against recreational players.I think being too focused on math can hurt your poker game if it makes you ignore psychology, timing, and table dynamics. Poker isn’t just numbers; overthinking calculations in real time can slow decisions and miss practical, exploitative opportunities against opponents.
