Do roulette systems like Martingale or Fibonacci actually work, or are they just a myth?

I tried Martingale once and it’s great until you hit a long losing streak, then it wipes you out. It looks smart on paper, but casinos know exactly how those systems play out. At the end of the day, it’s a game of chance. I laugh now thinking I actually believed it was a hack. For me, it wasn't. What about you?
