A FIFA president holds major power within the realm of international football organization. Is there any valid reason to allow FIFA presidents to bet on matches? This particular matter has generated heated debate because it challenges the game’s integrity. The president serves to defend sporting values of fairness and that makes gambling incompatible with their office.

According to FIFA governing law called law of the game forbids every personnel working for football bodies from gambling. Secondly, anybody who can influence football event is prohibited from participating in gambling. A lot of players have been sanctioned and fined for going against the code.

FIFA president has the same restriction as football governance personnel do regarding match betting activities. The game needs to maintain its integrity at all times and that's why powerful officials are prohibited from placing bets on game results.

Certainly not. To allow such persons to gamble on football matches would create a huge conflict of interest that could easily compromise the sport in terms of fairness and credibility.
