I was watching the Spain vs Cabo Verde match today, and I was amazed that Spain was not able to score a single goal past Cabo Verde, but that has not been the only match that has left me shocked, as I had expected a different result.

Has the World Cup surprised you so far? Which match has surprised you the most so far?

I was expecting Spain to be one of the contenders of the world cup because it is number 2 in FIFA ranking, but sadly, it ended up with goalless draw against a country ranked 67h. This came as a surprise.

Germany showed why they are one of the best countries to play in the World Cup tournament. In their opening match, they were very ruthless in beating their opponent 7-1. I think they are one of the favourites to win this year's World Cup.

I saw that match and I just laughed because this is exactly why I dont bet emotionally again. Small teams now defend their goal post like it's a national treasury. Even the so-called big teams are not safe anymore. Honestly, this tournament has already shown that no match is guaranteed.

Pretty standard opening for my own nation, I didn't think we played all that well but had spells that looked very dangerous on the attack. I felt sorry for Crotia, as I didn't think the scoreline reflected how they performed and although winning 4-2 was encouraging. They made England play very defensive football, which was only countered in spells. I hope to see better, but and I am sure as the stages progress it will.

I think the coach of Portugal got his team selection wrong in that match against DR Congo. Teams that play low block, he should have used players that can dribble 1 v 1 and beat their man to create chances. He corrected that in the second match and it was a resounding victory for Portugal.
