Many players tilt after getting burned when they make good moves, and get a bad beat or two(or coolers). If I start getting frustrated, and I recognize I'm no longer playing my best game. I like to take breaks, even if it's only 30 minutes, small breaks can do a lot for the mind.

Thoughts? Do you think it's important to have good decision making skills when you play poker?

One of the best decision we can make while playing poker games is to know when we have reach our mental saturation. There is no need to force our self because it may have very negative effects. We may be losing our cash games and get ourself tinted.

Making good decisions is very vital in poker especially when you are on a tilt. So, taking breaks can help you refocus and can help you make better choices.

I make bad calls by chasing in holdem which comes I think from my 7card stud hi lo and omaha drawing games when you have 10 outs or so and just know your going to get it but I have learned to constantly make better decisions because like they say, even a blind squirrel finds his nuts once in a while but in the long run, making bad decisions outweigh the good ones.
