Bankroll is like a principal thing for poker players that lean more towards tournaments. If I am certain that that I have 200 buy-ins at the minimum for a new level, I would very likely consider to move up a higher buy-in. I don't like to jump too soon to get broke in the middle of a poker tournament..

I always only move up when I am certain that I am consistently doing well at my current level. When I see that I always get to the latter stages often and I don't seem to get lost in between, I would always go for a higher buy-in at that point.
