What are ways you prevent yourself from tilting in cash games? What's the biggest pot you tilted away?

I'm pretty sure we've all tilted at some point, its one of the reasons why I stopped playing cash games. Sometimes I cant handle the swings when it hurts my bankroll.

I prevent myself from tilting by taking a break after a significant loss. I rarely chase losses because I know the anger and frustration I feel will cause me to make terrible decisions, and things only get worse when you start going down that road.

My biggest pot was about $1000 in a single night and I said never again.

I’m very fortunate as I don’t tilt. I’m able to ignore the table talk, the bad beats, etc. my motto is there’s always another hand. There’s always another game.

When I experience a bad beat, I always try to take short breaks before I come back. That always helps me to keep my balance and not tilt too much after a bad beat. That discipline really helps me stay above tilting in poker cash games.

I doubt if there is any strategy or ways a player can use to prevent tilt in cash game. Once there is cash invested, mental exertion must be there. Tilt is simply a mental exertion that the mind find too unstimulating.

I attempt to review my hand histories when I tilt rather than sulking. Knowing whether I really played a hand wrong or it was simply a bad luck makes me relax. It lets me step up my game.

I always try my best not to get frustrated midway in a poker game. That's the beginning of tilt for me. The biggest pot I tilted was simply because of frustration. I was so frustrated that I had to overplay a top pair hand and I lost badly. So when I lose a specified amount, I just end the session and leave. Not even discussing it in the poker room with other players.
