I was watching one replay this afternoon and it made me wonder. Now, if you knew that your hand was very strong, do you just fire big immediately or you slow down hoping another players enters the trap?

Poker can really test your patience more than people think because sometimes, greed could disguise as strategy.

Frankly speaking, if I have the best possible hand I bet right away. I want to intimidate people so that they can fold and I can win. I think trying to trap other people can be risky because they also might have good hand.

I usually prefer betting for value rather than getting too fancy with traps. Trying to trap can backfire if everyone checks behind. If I have the best possible hand, I'd rather start building the pot and let my opponents decide whether they want to continue.

I only try to trap if I think my opponent is likely to bet for me. Otherwise, I'd rather make a value bet and start building the pot. In most situations, getting paid consistently is better than hoping someone walks into a trap.
