A West Palm Beach man celebrated his 102nd birthday in the best way he knew by playing poker.
Gene Calden, who turned 102 on Thursday, marked the occasion at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, where he’s a familiar face in the poker room. Not only is he a skilled player, but he also holds the title of the oldest competitor in World Series of Poker history.
It’s s incredible to see him celebrate this milestone. Even though he’s one of our top poker players, people here just absolutely love him said Mike Jameson of the Palm Beach Kennel Club.
For Calden, another year means another hand at the table, proving that passion for the game never fades.
