Garnacho was dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United. He had skill and the fans loved him so much. After having a breakout season, pride took over. He felt no one can criticise him when he had a bad game. He turned on the fans, makes careless posts on social media, have his brother talk nonsense about how the club treats him and finally rebelled against the manager Ruben Amorim for not starting him the Europa League final against Tottenham.
He asked to leave the club, Manchester United wanted to sell him to Bayern Munich but he vowed only to go to Chelsea with his infamous threat - Chelsea or I sit on the bench for 6 months. Manchester United was forced to sell him £40M to Chelsea even though they could have gotten more for him from Bayern Munich.
Fast forward after 6 months, Chelsea have decided to sell him this summer after removing from the club's project and putting him in the transfer market. Garnacho fell from being the most coveted player in Manchester United to a reject at Chelsea.
Pride indeed goes before the fall.
