Earlier this week, X started eliminating thousands of accounts in new bot purge. According to the data available, about 208 bots accounts are being purged every minute. Users are losing millions and thousands of followers by the minute.

Why do you think X started this bot accounts purge?

That’s probably why I’ve noticed a drop in my followers on Twitter/X. It’s about time they started removing spam and bot accounts.

This bot purge thing is long overdue. I think I saw someone drop from 20k followers to like 8k overnight . Twitter is full of ghost accounts and fake engagement everywhere. But some real people will get hitted too.

many years ago, when I was new to digital marketing, I bought Twitter account with 5k followers for $5. It turned out that most of the followers were bots. I have over a dozen Twitter accounts, some of them have a decent following, and thankfully account purge did not affect me much.

I haven’t used Twitter in over a decade primary due to fake news, and spamming so guessing they’re trying to get ahead of AI Revolution I mean, honestly it’s almost human…smdh
