I’ve been reading about Bitcoin mining and the electricity usage shocked me like how could something digital consume power more than some countries. It has been a serious debate in the crypto space. Honestly, it's still very strange to me.

Bitcoin uses a lot of electricity because it relies on Proof of Work. Computers around the world compete to solve complex puzzles to validate transactions and secure the network. That process naturally requires a huge amount of energy.
