You need to pay for poker software, you also need to spend money either on website development or hiring a develover. Then there is hosting charges and domain fees. I have't build a poker site myself but I guess the cost might come around $1000

Many people underestimate the costs involved in running a poker site. What expenses should new operators expect beyond software licensing and hosting?
I have no doubt that you already know what the answer to that is.

But I don’t think it’s all factor of understanding it’s more of a I don’t care attitude involved.
They’re not here to worry about owners expenses or whether the Site stay live or not.
It’s all about a free game to them when the free games dry up the players fold up and move on.
But don’t give up hope the players that have played the higher buyin are the players you want to keep there’s the ones that will help you stay alive while building a decent site where players win money not pennies and those are the players you need to do special things for show your appreciation for them and you have a better chance of achieving your long-term growth.

We’ve had a lot of private conversations about this. If I were in a position where the finances made sense, I’d be all over starting an online poker room.

It’s more than just funding though, a reliable software solution is a must. I just wish it didn’t take so long to build a poker site from scratch.

Correct and you done quite well.
That is why I said you already know the answer to this. You’re not walking in as a newbie but for someone that’s new to the whole thing you get these people out there that have money oh, I’m gonna run and open a poker site buy the software they get all the licensing and stuff, but they wonder why they cannot get the players. You are very bypass that your next step is going to be getting the actual software and happy new actual ownership of a Site I have no doubt in my mind about that one.As well as players to open with ….lol

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
