A lot of players if they lose a bunch of chips, they give up. Keep battling. I've come back from a lot of tournaments where I thought I was done for, grind it out. If you don't focus on results, this won't affect your play. You won't always win, but you'll win more if you keep grinding. If you have good bankroll management, losing a few buy-ins won't hurt as much.

Share your comeback stories below, or tips related to being short stacked in tourneys. Any other thoughts?

I think this is one of the soundest poker advises that I have read here. I have seen many poker players down by some blinds and were able to double up and get back into the game stronger. All it requires is patience and emotional control. When once you let fear of elimination take over you, it is certain that you are going to make some bad plays.

Exactly, giving up after a few losses just kills your chances. Some of my best runs came when I was short-stacked and everyone wrote me off. Staying focused, picking good spots, and being patient can turn things around fast. Good bankroll management helps too, so a few buy-ins lost don’t shake you. For short stacks, I like waiting for good spots to shove and keeping an eye on the table—timing is everything.

Winning a poker tournament is not about one hand, it is about mental fortitude to stay and make a thousand correct decisions even when short. My best strategy when short is to focus on survival first. I always stay patient and would stick solely to playing hands that have high removal equity. Mental game is everything on poker tournaments.
