Independent Chip Model (ICM) stands as one concept that receives excessive attention in the field of poker. ICM provides beneficial capabilities yet players tend to neglect vital game elements by using it primarily in most situations.

You beat me to it @uptrendfinancialsignal I was also about to bring up ICM as being the worst concept in poker. I do think it's important to have a basic understanding of ICM if you grind tournaments, but you don't need ICM to be a winning player.
