New players often feel bored folding repeatedly and start playing marginal hands. When hey do this repeatedly, losses add up. This is one of the mistakes I did as a newbie. When you are new, how do you manage to stay disciplined? How can a new player wait for stronger spots without feeling impatient at the table?

Many players lose money because they play too many weak hands and end up in difficult spots after the flop. I’d say it often comes from impatience or overconfidence.

Overcommitting preflop can lead to difficult decisions post-flop. Even if you use pot control, playing too many hands can still put you in tricky spots. That said, having a wider range does give you more room to maneuver in certain situations. Overall, I recommend a tighter approach, while selectively opening up in key spots.
