Players wear sunglasses for psychological reasons. Psychological, it is difficult to read a player you don't see his eyes. Eyes can easily give player away. Sunglasses can hide subtle tells and create psychological edge for players. Do you believe that sunglasses can help to give a poker player a psychological edge?

To some extent, I would agree that an opponent seeing your eyes can give away tells. But I think it is kind of overrated. A very excellent pro poker player can pick tells from the opponent even when they cover their eyes. Some gestures like breathing patterns, betting patterns, and even hand movements can give enough tells for a smart poker player. I don't use glasses on the poker table. I also need my eyes to be clear to see the reaction of my opponent on the table.

The sunglasses will assist in masking your eyes and this is very essential in poker. This will allow players to disguise their body signs with. The body signs are easily detected by professional players.

I think Poker players wear sunglasses to hide their eyes and avoid giving away any clues about their hand.

The reason I put on sunglasses is to ensure that the other players don't figure out the move that I am planning to make through my eyes. The eyes are one of the body parts that any smart poker player will be checking out on their rivals so I tend to cover mine to avoid anyone detecting the plan that I have.

I get why players wear sunglasses because eyes can give away a lot of things. It can be nervousness, excitement or a bluff. Hiding them makes it harder for others to read you and can give a small psychological edge. It’s not a game-changer, but it helps you control what info you show at the table.
