Knowing when to leave a cash game can be just as important as how you play it.

Some players stick to strict stop-loss or profit targets, while others base their decision on how they’re feeling, table dynamics, or game quality.

Do you leave when you’re up a certain amount? Down a certain amount? Or do you stay as long as the game is good?

As far as I am concerned, I usually leave when I feel my focus slipping or my decisions becoming emotional instead of logical. I also leave if the game quality changes, I’m getting tired, or bored.

The hardest thing in poker is knowing when to stand up or stop. Greed can hold you down😂 One time I doubled my bankroll early and instead of leaving happily, I stayed because I wanted “just one more win.” Before sunrise everything has vanished. Since then I created a simple rule. Once I notice frustration, tiredness, or unnecessary confidence getting in, I leave immediately. .

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
